Temporary Patio Grant

The Downtown Hamilton BIA is thrilled to announce the return of the Temporary Patio Grant for 2024!

This program was created to assist Downtown Hamilton BIA members with the cost of establishing
a temporary seasonal patio or seating area. The program is administered solely by the Downtown
Hamilton BIA. The total funding allocated for the program in 2024 is $20,000. The grant is for a
maximum $1,000 towards the establishment of a temporary patio structure or a pedestrian bypass
required for a temporary patio. Applications from Downtown Hamilton BIA members will be accepted until June 30, 2024, or when funds are expended, whichever comes first. A fillable application can be accessed here.

The City of Hamilton’s 2024 Temporary Outdoor Patio Program applications are now open. You can find more information about this program here. * In the midst of the City of Hamilton’s ongoing cybersecurity incident, applicants are still encouraged to submit an application. Permits will be prepared in advance and will be issued after the motion to a motion to waive the Temporary Outdoor Patio fee is ratified by Hamilton City Council. *
