As soon as the patios open, King William St feels different. The street gets livelier. You start hearing more laughter, more clinking glasses, more “let’s grab a seat out here.” It’s one of those Hamilton streets that was made for summer.
It’s full of spots that make lingering easy. You might land in the sun with a cold drink or tuck into a corner where the traffic fades away. Some patios are made for people-watching. Others offer a break from it all. Every one of them brings something different.
Here’s a look at all the places on King William offering patio seating this season:
Berkeley North
Conversate
The Diplomat
Electric Diner
HAMBRGR
Mystic Ramen
Relay Coffee Roasters
The Mule
The French
Undefined
If you’re looking to eat outside this season, here’s a closer look at every patio on King William. There’s a lot to love, and a seat waiting with your name on it.
Berkeley North
Berkeley North feels like a quiet breath in the middle of King William. The patio is small but just right. You’re tucked amongst lovely flower boxes, just enough to feel hidden, but still close enough to catch glimpses of the street. A big window stays wide open, keeping that easy connection between the dining room and outside tables.
The food is thoughtful without being fussy. Their tasting menus let you try a bit of everything. Maybe it’s tuna crudo and baked brie one night, mushroom dumplings and teriyaki eggplant the next. Everything is seasonal, beautifully plated, and surprisingly comforting.
It’s the kind of place you go for one dish and a glass of wine, and end up ordering dessert too, just to stretch the night (or lunch break!) a little longer.

Conversate
Conversate brings something different to the street. It’s a refined steakhouse that feels elevated but never stuffy. The patio is fully enclosed, surrounded by tall fencing and shaded by a large tree that creates a calm, tucked-away atmosphere. You can’t see the street from your table, and once you’re seated, it really does feel like you’ve been transported somewhere else.
This is a space built for slowing down. A glass of white wine, lobster poured over with warm butter, or prime rib with bone marrow served just right. It’s quiet, relaxed, and the food speaks for itself.
Patio season has officially arrived at Conversate, and it’s a great place to start!

The Diplomat
The Diplomat offers a patio experience that pairs atmosphere with flavour. Once the tables are out, expect a cozy, street-side setting that mirrors the restaurant’s warm energy inside. The menu leans global, the cocktails are crafted with care, and the service always leaves an impression. It’s a perfect pick for dinner with friends, a date night drink, or just catching the rhythm of the city as it passes by.

Electric Diner
Electric Diner’s patio stretches the entire length of the restaurant on King William and is easy to spot, with bold blue umbrellas. The space is framed by low greenery, giving just enough privacy without cutting off the street view. The menu blends diner classics with a modern twist; milkshakes, fried chicken sandwiches, and loaded breakfast plates that work at any hour. Try out their Crab Cake Benny, one of the new summer menu items available daily until 4 p.m.!
If you’re planning a weekday visit, you can book a patio table online. Weekends are walk-in only, and Wednesdays come with cocktail deals.

HAMBRGR
HAMBRGR has a two-part patio setup: bar-height stools along the sidewalk shaded by red umbrellas and a street extension with classic table seating where you can enjoy the full sun. Both offer a lively view of the block. The vibe is casual and fun, with a menu that leans all-in on flavour. Expect creative poutines, massive burgers, and indulgent twists on milkshakes and desserts. If you’re stopping in for a drink, the French-pressed sangrias are a great excuse to hang out a little longer and enjoy the summer sun.

Mystic Ramen
This small patio packs a lot of charm. The space sits just outside the entrance, framed by planters that add a hit of colour and a bit of privacy, with little red paper lanterns that give an extra ambiance. A great getaway for a solo lunch or a casual dinner date.
FYI, Ramen is a year-round staple. The scratch-made broths are rich without feeling heavy, and the balance of flavours works even better in the warmer weather than you’d expect. Pair your bowl with one of their cocktails or zero-proof mocktails; crisp, refreshing, and made with just as much care. The Bees Knees is a personal favourite.
At Mystic Ramen there’s intention in every detail. It’s cozy, laid-back, and always worth the visit.

Relay Coffee Roasters
Relay’s patio is bright, simple, and welcoming. Set just off the sidewalk with a small railing and pops of color from the yellow chairs, it’s an easy place to pull up a seat. You have the option of patio umbrellas offering shade or hanging out in the sun, making it great for an iced coffee with a quick bite, or an impromptu chat with a friend. Also, the benches are perfect for people watching, reading a good book and working on your tan!

The Mule
The Mule’s patio is pure good energy. It’s the kind of place you end up at without planning to, and somehow stay way longer than you meant to. The tacos hit every time, and the margaritas don’t mess around.
They’ve just added over 15 new items to their summer menu, and the front patio is now expanded out onto the street, giving you even more room to soak up the sun. You’ve got options for where to sit: right on the corner where you can enjoy the street vibe, or tucked in the back heated patio under string lights if you’re in the mood for something a little more secluded and chill.
Sun’s out. Tacos out. Margs out. Let’s go!

The French
This patio feels like a little pocket of Montreal right in the middle of King William. Black and white striped awnings give it a classic bistro look, while the hedge-lined seating adds a layer of calm and privacy from the street. Small round tables and woven chairs make it feel like a perfect spot for brunch or a quiet dinner. It’s elegant but approachable, the perfect spot for weekend brunch, a midday lunch, or a quiet dinner.
You could pop in for a croque monsieur at lunch or settle in for dinner with their roasted pork chop. Even just stopping by for dessert is a treat. Try a vanilla crème brûlée or linger a little longer with an After Eight made with Relay Coffee, crème de menthe, crème de cacao, and whipped cream.
Bon appétit!

Undefined
Undefined does things a little differently. The menu is thoughtful, the wine list is carefully picked, and the patio is small in the best way. Tree lined with lovely flower planters, it creates a quiet, calm, and easy space to settle into.
Some tables are just for eating. These ones are for staying. They hold stories, second (even third!) drinks, and the kind of laughter that lingers in the air a bit longer than usual. Out here, you ease into the evening without needing a plan.
It feels relaxed. It feels personal. It feels like summer at Undefined.
