Tucked just below The Diplomat on King William, you’ll find a spot that might be easy to miss from the street, but you’ll be glad you didn’t. Sagarmatha Curry Palace is colourful, and welcoming, serving Indian and Nepalese dishes made with fresh ingredients, fragrant spices, and recipes rooted in tradition.
The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, with rich colours and details that nod to the restaurant’s Himalayan roots.
What We Ate

We started with Vegetable Samosas, perfectly crisp pastries stuffed with spiced vegetables, and Onion Bhajiya, a generous plate of battered onion pieces fried golden and served with tamarind and green sauces. These appetizers alone could have made the night, but the mains quickly stole the show.
The Palak Paneer, with creamy spinach and homemade cheese, and the Baigan Bartha, roasted eggplant with peas, tomatoes, and onions, were both packed with flavour. The Daal Makhani, a rich lentil dish with herbs, butter, and cream, was pure comfort. We paired everything with warm Tandoori Naan and fluffy Plain Zira Rice.

What stood out to us, beyond the flavour, was the value. With mains starting under $15 and appetizers for less than $7, the prices are refreshingly reasonable, especially given the generous portions. We even had enough to take home for a second dinner. For those with dietary preferences, there’s also a wide range of vegan and gluten-free options.
