September 11th 2026,

While a summer cold brew is certainly a delightful way to start your day, for many of us the warmer months make our coffee more of a moment of bliss, a getaway from the gloom, the rain and the snow. That bean juice you crave every morning, or sometimes every time of day, the real black gold, is always best served at your local. Your local coffee shop is the only place where I have full trust in the barista. I’m fully convinced some of them know how to do open heart surgery, or have done a tour of duty with their nation’s army, but just sling coffee for the love of the game.
But what makes Redchurch Cafe on King Street so special isn’t just their amazing menu and the brilliant workers behind it bringing it to you. It’s that the space is so much more than that. Not only is it a perfect escape on a rainy day for their warm treats, it is also a gorgeous gallery and event space.
Take a moment to sit down inside the cafe before racing off to your next meeting, and take in all the beautiful artworks that adorn the walls. If you’re lucky, you might just be there for a gallery opening reception, or a networking event in the back of the cafe! Who knows, you might be walking out of there with more than just a coffee? How about a local Hamilton artist origional.

What we tried
In truth, as we have at the BIA frequented this establishment on several occasions, limiting the great things to talk about from this cafe is incredibly challenging. If we talked about everything, we would be here all day. From their brilliant lattes, to delicious seasonal chai and matcha, to their delicious baked goods, including the recent addition of Donut Monster to their cabinet! It’s worth noting that you can not go wrong here, but alas, the show must go on, and we decided to deep dive onto two of their menu items with one of our summer staff members.
For a spot of lunch we tried the Veggie Ceasar Wrap. It was absolutely delicious! The spiced chickpeas provided that necessary bulk of protein and fibre to keep you going for the rest of your day, but the main event absolutely has to go to the delicious dressing. The lemon ceasar dressing was amazing, and look, who doesn’t like ceasar dressing? This was a perfect and affordable lunch option and certainly something we will be back to try again when we inevitable “forget” our lunch on the counter at home!
It wouldn’t be a cafe review without talking about tasty beverages! While we have been singing the praises of their coffee, which uses De Mello coffee beans, they can also make a smashing smoothie too! The revitalizing smoothie is a treat not worth passing up on. Not only do you quite literally feel revitalized (and have enough Vitamin C to make any cold quiver in it’s boots!), but you’ll also be left with a smile on your face as this berry and mango drink is the perfect treat to compliment your hearty lunchtime wrap.
There is a lot of fun seasonal ones going at the moment, from Fererro Rocher and Banana Bread Lattes! We’ve tried the banana bread one and it was absolutely superb. Get in quick though! Once winter rolls around these might be changed out for another range of delicious drinks.

The Verdict

Redchurch cafe is the perfect coffee spot, but it’s so much more than that. I know it sounds cliché, but this cafe does actually offer above and beyond. From a great menu and cabinet, to an amazing gallery and event space, you’ve got options. So what are you waiting for? Stop in for a bite and a drink today, or, wait for a networking event or a gallery opening and get social! No matter how you’re experience Redchurch, you’ll have a good time. We promise!
