Are you planning a visit to the downtown core? Whether you are looking to meet a friend for a quick drink, grab a bite to eat, do some shopping, or attend a fun event, downtown Hamilton has something for you. For those planning their next visit, let us provide you with some tips and things to keep in mind when coming down. TRANSPORTATION
If you are planning on driving to the area, a major consideration in your plans will be parking. The Downtown Hamilton BIA has a parking map available for you to use that will hopefully give you a better understanding of the area and the options available to you. The interactive map has addresses and prices listed, allowing you to find the best deal based on the area you are looking to visit. You can access our parking map here.
If you are planning to take the bus, there are plenty of routes running through downtown Hamilton. While this easily allows you to travel wherever you are looking to go, the high number of different buses with their own unique routes can sometimes make it difficult to know which one to take. Thankfully, the HSR offers plenty of helpful online resources that allow you to better plan your next trip. You can find schedules for all the bus routes here, and access the HSR’s online trip planning tools here.
For those looking to explore the area via bicycle, Hamilton Bike Share is a great and accessible solution for you. They offer SoBi bikes at hubs across the city, allowing riders to temporarily rent a bike. They have pay-as-you-go, monthly, or seasonal options, allowing you to choose whichever option works best for you. EVENTS
While in the downtown core, there are plenty of exciting events happening at any given time. If you are looking for something fun to do, make sure you check our events calendar. Additionally, the City of Hamilton and Tourism Hamilton both have their own events calendars, including events both within the downtown core and the city at large.
